William WordsWorth (1770-1850) was an English Romantic poet who is famous for the publication of Lyrical Ballads(1798)in collaboration with Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
William WordsWorth was born on 7 April1770 in Cockermouth,Cumberland,in the Lake District.
His father was attorney at law.He lost his mother when he was eight and his father five years later .He had a sister who was very important in his life .Her name is Dorothy.
With the help of his two uncles , William entered a local school and continued his studies at Cambrige University.In 1787 he started to write .In that same year he entered St.John’s College from where he took his B.A in 1791.
He travelled to France and Swutzerland where he met Coleridge who encoraged him to write his first masterpiece (the Lyrical Ballads).
He went to Germany and when he returned to England he married Mary Hutchison in 1802.He died on April 23,1850.
